1. Analytical Skills- As a medical assistant, you must be able to understand and follow charts, and diagnoses that a doctor makes. Doctors rely on you for accurate and up to date information.
2. Interpersonal Skills- Medical assistants need to be able to discuss patient information with patients and other medical professionals. Medical assistants often speak to patients who are in pain or distress. As a medical professional, you need to be able to behave calmly and professionally when providing patients with care.
3. Detail Oriented- Medical assistants need to make sure they are taking accurate and detailed information down when speaking with patients because it is crucial for making correct diagnoses for patients.
4. Technical Skills- As a medical assistant, you will come into contact with essential clinical equipment to take a patient's vitals. It is imperative that you can use the equipment, so you can measure a patients' blood pressure and heart rate.
