Medical Billing: 60 Hrs

In our comprehensive Medical Billing & Coding Program, students get acquainted with the medical insurance policies, learn coding procedures, and practice medical billing methods. The curriculum is designed with real-time case studies. Students are taught computerized billing simulations to best familiarize them with how to create, save, retrieve, edit, and maintain patient files seamlessly.

The course is aimed at preparing students to enter the healthcare industry and become competent members of the billing and coding team. Thus, all our students are clear on the fundamentals of following payments to patient accounts, producing insurance claim forms, addressing rejected claims, and maintaining detailed claim activity reports electronically.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING SPECIALISTS

Medical Billing and Coding Specialists operate behind the scenes ensuring that the administrative work is in complete order, allowing the medical staff to focus on providing quality patient care.

Medical coders perform all the needful procedures starting from obtaining reimbursement from insurance companies in a timely fashion so that the patients continue to receive their treatment uninterrupted. Medical Billing and Coding involve two aspects of the administrative side of patient care.

Medical Billers are responsible for submitting claims to insurance companies or other listed payers, whereas coders handle the response documentation from the providers and convert it into the set medical coding format to make them eligible for reimbursement.

Simply put, billers carry correspondence with both the insurance companies and patients. The coders ensure that the communication with the insurance companies is carried out in the proper set medical code to settle the claims.
